It has been total joy for me to once again hear these songs and place the lyrics with them. I never tire of picking them apart for the harmony and the stories they tell. Not to just mention the great voices of The Glaser Brothers and giving credit to the writers of these great songs, I am placing emphasis on the arrangements also.  How can you not help but think of the late, great Bob Wills when listening to "Back In Each Others Arms Again"?   It seems this group never failed to  vary  their arrangements, yet was able to maintain the classic style that they were so well known for then.   Be sure to listen for the signature harmony of The Glaser Brothers in the phrase  "Oh what I'd give to just relive them once again", in the song, "The Days When You Were Still In Love With Me" and the lament of the prisoner in "Delta Lost" as he returns to face freedom.

I hope you enjoy the selections.         Norma

Back In Each Other's Arms Again (lyrics)
Written by Tompall Glaser

When you left me for that someone you loved better
Well I never thought we'd be as close again
Then today the postman brought me your sweet letter
Sayin' you'd come back tonight if I'd be here

And We're Back In Each Others Arms Again
Should I laugh or should I cry will you still say goodbye
I'm so hurt still I'm happy and I don't know what to do
Since We're Back In Each Other's Arms Again

The Days When You Were Still In Love With Me (lyrics)
Written By Paul Craft

Just yesterday a friend brought up your name to me
And it took me back to times that used to be
And one by one I said hello to memories
Of Days When You Were Still In Love With Me

Loving someone never meant so much to me
And no one's kisses ever seemed so sweet
Oh what I'd give to just relive them once again
The Days When You Were Still In Love With Me

No one else has touched me like you touched me then
And no one else has set my love so free
Those days are ever green and living in my mind
The Days When You Were Still In Love With Me

Loving someone never meant so much to me
And no one's kisses ever seemed so sweet
Oh what I'd give to just relive them once again
The Days When You Were Still In Love With Me

The Days When You Were Still In Love With Me

Delta Lost (lyrics)
Written by Jud Phillips

My daddy died when I was young I was my mommas only son
And growin' up ain't easy pickin' cotton on another man's land
Wasn't time for school or play 'cause every minute each day
I worked hard to feed the family and I'd gone from a boy to a man

The life I was livin' was free but the boss thought he owned my family
When he put his dirty hands on my sister Lord I shot him and he died before he fell
By the time I started to run from the hounds and the men with the guns
I knew that Delta sunshine wouldn't shine in my grey prison cell

I've been too long in prison now too long and can't remember how
to live without four walls enclosing me
Oh Lord, won't you show me how to live free

When I shoulda been a learnin' a trade I was learnin' other prisoners ways
And the time went by a calendar being ruled by a bell and a gun
And Lord as the years crawled by the free life faded in time
Forgetting how to reach out and learnin' how to hold on

And now I'm so afraid tomorrow my debt'll be paid
They'll release me in the mornin' turn me loose on the wide city streets
Oh God please show me again how to be a free livin' man
I've been too long from a farm boy too long since I've ever been free

I've been too long in prison now too long and can't remember how
to live without four walls enclosing me
Oh Lord, won't you show me how to live free
