Jim has an archive of letters to and from his fans on his website. Those of you who have not seen it might find some very interesting facts generated by our questions to him, which he readily answered. In one of my questions to him, he made me think of something that I have never forgotten. That instance, about two years ago, was my mention of how much I loved the song, "Weight Of My Chains", as sung by the Glaser Brothers.  He responded by saying that the song was also one of his favorites and that his good friend, Jimmy Payne had written it.  I pondered on that a few minutes and truly had an awakening then.  Jim Glaser then made me think of something that I have never forgotten.

At some moment, many artists out there felt something in their hearts that needed to be said.  Possibly it was inspired by an event in their lives or, by merely brainstorming.  Whatever the reason, they proceeded to channel it through words, then in the words of Jimmy Payne, "put pen to paper".  Perhaps they then sent those words out to us trusting that maybe, just maybe, someone might view them as inspirational, or even someday, hear them in a song hoping to have touched someone.  May we take a moment to think about this and  give credit to those 'songwriters', an integral part of all those songs out there that we listen to and love.  I think many of us unintentionally fail to do that.  NJ

The following links are the courtesy of Stan Laundon, an avid fan of Jimmy Payne, who has painstakingly created a wonderful tribute to him. I want to thank Stan for allowing me to borrow some of the information that he has compiled for Jim Glaser in his website which is, in part,  dedicated to Jimmy Payne at http://www.jimmypayne.org  It is caring and generous folks like you Stan, that make these tributes possible.  Your website is wonderful!

As written by Stan: "As well as recording songs written by Jimmy Payne, Jim Glaser has co-written many with him, too!  Most of the Jimmy Payne photographs on this site were edited, copied, scanned and sent with tender loving care by Jim Glaser".  "Thanks Jim"!
