Jim joins many of us who have chosen to let animals be a part of our lives. Below, is his little family of 'fur friends' who, for the most part and at some time, were forlorn and in need of rescue.  Not once did Jim debate the issue to see to their needs as they entered his life. As you read, you will know how deeply he cares for them and the measures he has taken to provide them with a safe and loving haven for the life allowed to them. By looking at the pictures below, (by the way, taken this year, 2004), how can anyone dispute the fact that these beautiful animals are happy and content.

Jim briefly describes how each wayfaring stranger came to be a part of his life.

"The young cat opened her eyes wide and stared, unblinking at my flashlight, afraid, but motionless."

"This kitten, as if he understood me and the situation completely, immediately started down the tree and never stopped until he was close enough to the ground that I could reach out and gather him into my arms."

"...Cleo let it be known that she had chosen me and my home as hers, and that she had every intention of staying."

Junior loved our new home, and would daily sit at the edge of the mown area, staring for hours out into the wilderness of the un-mown and unknown. Thus he earned one of his nicknames, "Perimeter Cat."

"I’ve no doubt he’d lay down his life for any one of us in his family."
